Generally, adaptive technologies allow diverse students to be able to fully participate in the classroom. These technologies maximize the learning experience. As mentioned in the textbook, word prediction technologies are extremely helpful for students with dissabilities. These allow for students to type quicker and keep up with the classroom. Another example of adaptive technologies for students with dissabilities that is extremely helpful is SmartBoards. For my Introduction to Education class, I have been observing elementary school classroom. Therefore, I have witnessed the use of this technology in classrooms with students with special needs. This technology allows them to participate in interactive lessons ands keeps them engaged. Growing up, also witnessed this when watching some of my peers in the classroom. Therefore, I see them as having a lot of success. A challenge that I expect to face when using adaptive technologies is that these technologies may be difficult to use. Teachers may need to go through extensive training in order to figure out how to use these technologies. Not to mention, there is an immense cost that will stem from bringing these technolgies into the classroom. School budgets are already extremely tight. These budgets may need to be altered in order to include technological classroom tools.

Bloom's Taxonomy refers to a classification system that organizes classroom learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. PowerPoint can be used to support student learning at each level of Bloom's Taxonomy. For instance, with the remembering component, students can see diagrams and visual aids to help them memorize the information that is being presented to them. For the comprehension component, teachers can integrate a quiz into their presentation. This allows for teachers to gage how well their classroom knows the materials. For the applying component, teachers can integrate relevant video clips or real world examples into their PowerPoint presentations. This allows for students to understand the information better and gain a better understanding on the material. Next is the analyzing component. PowerPoints can help in this component by allowing for specific details to be explained through bullets or simply different slides. Then is the synthesizing component. PowerPoints can be used to synthesize information by breaking down a general topic into specific components. Lastly is the evaluating component. This refers to students thinking critically about the material that they are learning. Teachers can integrate discussion questions into their PowerPoints in order to evaluate the knowledge of their students.

To stay informed of technological trends, I could use Education Dive. This website provides general education news but has a page titled "technology" that offers news on just educational technology. Specifically, they post about new technological discoveries and tools. This website is regularly updated. When I become a teacher, I can see myself using this website regularly.
